Anna lost her first tooth! She is so proud; she asked me to post all about it on my blog. Then she called her friends Jadyn and Michaela to tell them the good news. When I asked her how much money the tooth fairy should bring her, she remarked, “$18.” She better talk to Josiah about that first. Her poor brother sent the tooth fairy notes for months after his last loss. I finally found a piece of it (his tooth) under my computer the other day.
She’ll be lucky if I remember to give her a quarter…

Cute! She is absolutely adorable.
Jack said that I needed to ask the tooth fairy for $69 after having 4 teeth pulled for my braces. I told him that I would need the money to pay for braces!
So, what’s the going rate for teeth these days? Is it still a quarter? I figured it would be up to a dollar with inflation and all…what do I know?

She received 4 quarters but unfortunately none of them were MN quarters, for which she was really hoping (I didn’t have any). But she was pleased to have played “tooth fairy” with me anyway (I have always told the kids the truth straight up about SC and TF, and then we play “the game”). She put the tooth in a jar of water ‘cause she was afraid she’d lose it under her pillow (rightly so, my kids have always slept like running helicopter blades). I told her the story of when I was 8 and my dad emptied his pockets into my tooth fairy jar and didn’t check for the bus tokens. That’s how I learned the tooth fairy wasn’t real. It was a tragic realization because I had actually shared my heart with and made a serious wish with the “Real Tooth Fairy” at Wisconsin Dells just that summer! (But I didn’t tell her that part - just about my dad and the bus tokens…)
