2005 Homeschool Nature Camp - Day 4

On the last day at Living Waters Homeschool Nature Camp we learned about polishing rocks and geodes. Rock polishing sure is a good spiritual analogy for Christian growth and maturity. Both take consistent tumbling, friction and patience.

Geodes present a good lesson in spiritual principles as well. The beauty within is unimaginable from the outside sometimes… The helmets sure were necessary. Little shards of rock often shot in multiple directions.

This geode was a tough nut to crack. We eventually needed the help of a couple dads to give it some good hard WHACKS! What a beautiful suprise lay within!

Those are the highlights of our 2005 Homeschool Nature Camp. This is the 4th year we’ve gone. It’s pretty much our yearly family vacation. Even though it was cold this year, it was worth every minute.
