Singing Down the Foe

I just spoke with David by telephone. He said that the scene outside the hospice is extremely intense! He provides the following update:
Pinellas Park police have blockaded 62nd street with police cars. This step has been taken Fox News reports to prevent Florida DCFS from coming to remove Terri.
Meanwhile at the site, Mr. Schindler just came out of the hospice. He walked through the crowd thanking the two hundred demonstrators at the site. After walking through demonstrators on the west side of the hospice gate he walked through the demonstrators on the east side. We, knowing that Mr. Schindler was out in the crowd had been singing hymns of the Christian faith to drown out a demonstrator crying “Let her die.” We sang Were You There, Amazing Grace and Jesus Loves Me. But when Mr. Schindler came to our side of the crowd, the song we were singing was the Ave Maria. So with Protestants in the crowd not knowing the words, we hummed along at a shouting pitch. Mr. Schindler came through our part of the crowd, walking within five feet of the man shouting, “Let her die.” As the crowd hummed and sang Ave Maria, Mr. Schindler walked around to the other side of the street saying “bless you” to all of the protesters. When he saw the anti-Terri demonstrator, he turned from four feet away, looked at him and said, “And bless you too.”
